My favourite story of when I
was little was Saint George's. The story is about a knight, a town,
and a beautiful Princess.
Long time ago, there was a town
that was very scared. They were frightening because there was a
dragon eating sheep or people everyday . The king of the town decided
to do a random will touch someone to be eaten by the dragon. The
first person was his daughter. She went to where it was the dragon.
But, a knight appeared with his white horse and rescued her. All the
people of the town were very grateful after rescue the beautiful
Princess.
Besides being a great story also
is a very enjoyable tradition that is done in Catalonia and some
countries more. Other countries like so much. In my opinion it is a
great tradition and an amazing legend. For this reason I like the
story very much.

SAINT
GEORGE
Saint
George is a popular festival celebrated on 23rd
of April in honour of the knight, Saint George. This festival is very
popular in Catalonia.
We
usually have presents, women give a book to men and men give a rose
to women. Because the legend tells, when the dragon died, from the
blood grew a rose, and Saint George gave it to the princess.
Since
this day it was also created the Catalonia’s flag which according
to the legend was yellow, but when Saint George killed the dragon he
left the red mark of the blood in the flag.
23rd
of April is also a very important day because is the day who Miguel
de Cervantes and William Shakespeare died. We called this day the Day
of the Book because these two famous men were writers.
Cervantes
wrote the famous romance called “Don Quijote de la Mancha” and he
is considered one of the best Spanish literature’s writers.
Shakespeare is the most important English writer and one of the most
famous in the universal literature.

The
Legend of St. George
In
Catalonia one of the most important legends is St. George. It talks
about a princess and a knight. The story tell this:
In
the past, 300 years ago, there was an angry dragon, he was very angry
because he ate all the food and the villagers didn't have more food.
One day the king decided to give it one person a week because the
dragon thought to kill every one because he was angry and the village
didn't have more food to give it. Before this the king sent a group
of knights to kill the dragon but the knights never killed it. One
day was the turn of the princess. The king was very sad and all of
the people too.
The
next morning the princess went to the cave of the dragon, but she saw
a knight, a different knight, of the kingdom.
The
man walked to the cove and he said: “ I come to this country to
kill the dragon and save you.”
The
dragon went out the cove and tried to kill them. St. George killed
the dragon. The dragon expelled blood and the blood transformed into
a group of beautiful roses. St. George gave one rose to the princess.
The princess loved him but he saved more people in the world.
And
this is the legend of St. George.

SAINT
GEORGE
Hello
my name is George. Do you know my story? Oh! Okay, okay! I'm the hero
en the “Saint George” story.
I
lived in Hamstescklome, in Portugal.
Every
day, in Hamstescklome, people com concerned. I didn't give many
importance, but every time there were more people concerned, and I
went to ask these people. They said me “In the Kingdom of Blanes
there is a Dragon, and it steals us the sheep. It eats people, and
now, this goes to eat the princes.” And I went to rescue the
princess and her people very fast. I got at Blanes in one week on my
horse Rodolf. I got when the princess was in front of the dragon, and
I began to fight against the dragon with my sword. I won the battle.
And incredibly from the blood began to grow roses, and I gave a rose
to the princess.
She
fell in love with me and I fell in love with her.
This
is my incredible story.
You
