Notting Hill Carnival

The Notting Hill is a celebration in London. It is the largest in Europe. The people get dressed
funny and sexy costumes and there is so loudly music.

In the pictures the people is dressed with exotic clothes. In ones of them, there is a man with a doll onto him and a woman dressed into a giant plant. I would like to go to this carnival.

Important to Caribbean festival arts, like the Luton Carnival, are the ancient African traditions of parading and moving in circles through villages in costumes and masks. Circling villages was believed to bring good fortune, to heal problems, and chill out angry relatives who had died and passed into the next world. Carnival traditions also borrow from the African tradition of putting together natural objects.

The Notting Hill Carnival is in London, it's a most vibrant celebration of diversity, colour and sound. The Carnival is celebrated on 29th and 30th of August. The girls wear costumes and dance, people play the drums, also there are marionettes... People have fun. I'd like to be in this carnival because I like the costumes.

Brian Caparrós, 2nd B

The London Nothing Hill is an annual event which takes places during the bank holiday at the end of August. Nothing Hill carnival has been held on the streets of Nothing Hill. The Caribbean community lead the event. There is a snake with decorations in the floats. The people see the floats and is funny. The characters are dancing. They dress with decorations and swimsuits. Yes, people is having fun. I usually go to the Blanes carnival on sports centre and I'd like going to the Nothing Hill carnival.

Poem The Class

My white class is in S'Agulla school
It is big, good, tall or pleasant.
It is sometimes very well and other times not.

In my class we do:
study, read, write and draw.
It's very pleasant to do these things
because is very boring
but at the end is for you.

Inside the class there are many posters,
of projects we do in class.
Turn left: tables, chairs, windows and computers;
and to the back of the class hungers it.

POEMS

THE SEA

It's Summer, and I am lonely
in the middle of the sea.
In a ship with the fish swimming
in the blue and deep sea.

There is no beach, no island
there aren't any boat.
Only me and the big sea like an ocean.
All is quiet and mysterious

I believe I'm lost.
Maybe I will dive to leave here.
Because I'm boring,
I'm alone and I want to escape from here.

Sofía Campagna De León, 2nd C

LOVE

The love is beautiful,

the love is strange.

The lovers hold their hands and kiss

to feel the sensual feeling.

When my eyes look at him

change like two stars in the sky.

And when I smell his sweet aroma

I get crazy.

His arms hug around me

and my face change as the snow.

It's a fantastic dream.

Marina Jaén, 2nd C

FRIENDS

My friends are very important for me,
for me friendship is
to love, understand...

I think if you are really friendly
doesn't matter if it's beautiful, ugly...
The most important is the confidence.

It's important to be nice,
and with friends go for a walk,
or go to the cinema...

Verónica Bono, 2nd B

THE SUN

The sun shines on Sunday morning

and I'm happy.

without the sun, the flowers don't grow

and die,

without the sun people don't live.

For me the sun is hot and love.

For me the sun is light and bright.

For me the sun is power and people.

The sun hides at night

sky is black and star-shaped

but, I'll see the sun tomorrow!

I saw a crime in a film. It was a murder. One man killed to his neighbour and the police were searching evidences but they didn't find any evidences and the killer wasn't in prison.
But many years after, they found a witness of the crime. The killer was in prison for the rest of his life.

Claudia Allmang, 2nd B

There are many crimes in our town. The most important was in a restaurant. In the restaurant a thief murdered two people, one died soon. The police investigate the crime.

Brian Caparrós, 2nd B

A man was watching TV quietly and suddenly a man jumped and turned the video off and on it again. The man was scared and suddenly the phone rang and he heard a voice saying: a man will die in 7 days.

Reflections on My 2nd Term

I learnt the parts of animals, the professions, the past continuous, the past simple, the nature, and liked reading The Canterville Ghost.

Brian Caparrós, 2nd B

I really liked the topics because I learned many things like the parts of animals,
the professions, the past simple and I also read a book called The Canterville Ghost.

Sofia Dellanave, 2nd B

In reading I have a good mark because when we are with David we practise a lot of reading, pronunciation, intonation... and vocabulary too. I like David lessons!

Claudia Allmang, 2nd B

This second term I learnt many things. The best unit for me was Solve a Crime. I like it a lot because I learned a lot of new words. I think the exam is good, because the teacher can see if you learn on the 2nd term.

THE CANTERVILLE GHOST

WILDE, Oscar: The Canterville Ghost. Oxford University Press. Oxford, 2004. 841/A1-A2

The Otis family bought the house and they didn't believe in ghosts. They weren't frightened. The ghost tried to scare the family but the twins made tricks to him and he couldn't frighten them. He told Virginia why he was alive and he wanted to dead. Virginia helped him and she took a box of jewels from the ghost who told her a secret never mentioned.

Facundo Cacace, 2nd B

I liked this book because I really like the horror and fantasy stories, and also the ghosts, because this ghost is very special.

I think that we worked the book very well, because we practised many things (speaking with David, listening with Nuria, reading and writing (the sheets of exercises). To do the exercises of the book is very good, because these helped us to understand the book.

Mònica Ferré, 2nd A

The ghost was an old man with eyes as red as fire. His grey hair was long and dirty, his clothes were old an full of holes and he were chains.
I liked the book because it is long, of mystery, tragedy and ghosts. Also it was enough to understand, but the last two chapters were complicated.

Gerard Castañón, 2nd B

Virginia is a good girl. I like Virginia because she spoke with the ghost and she helped him to rest in peace.
I think that it's an exciting and funny story. I like it a lot.

Claudia Allmang, 2nd B ESO

I learnt words with David very well and we wrote in a yellow sheet. In the lessons we spoke. The first day we read with Mrs Reichardt the introduction and after we read in our houses and on Fridays we spoke with David about The Canterville Ghost.

Nerea Ortega, 2nd A

I learnt a lot because the book has got a lot of new vocabulary. I liked very much going with the teacher assistant because I like speaking and practising for the future.

Natàlia Castilla, 2nd A

Virginia is the only person that she offered to help the ghost, and she is a very good person.

Lukas Swiatek, 2nd A

I liked the book because there are fantasy, terror, mystery..
