Blanes is a town in The Selva, in Catalonia, in Spain. It isn’t a big town and it isn’t a small town: it’s a medium town. In summer a lot of people come to Blanes, some to visit it, and other to spend their holiday. Blanes is like a city but it isn’t a city, because Blanes has many things like a city, it has: Cinema, a big church, a lot of butchers, bakeries, banks, supermarkets, gyms, schools, secondary schools, shops, restaurants; Blanes has a regional library and a regional hospital.

     MY TOWN

I live in Blanes, PLantera. Blanes is between Malgrat (Barcelona) and Lloret (Girona). Blanes celebrates: Carnaval, Halloween, Fireworks, etc…

In Blanes there are campsites and there are football teams: ‘’Blanes F.C. , ‘’Quatre Vents F.C.’’ , ‘’Cala Guido F.C.’’ , and Racing F.C. ,next to S’agulla secondary school.

In Blanes there are public  schools:Napoleo Soliva , Piña De Rosa, Quatre Vents, La Vila, etc… Also there are secondary schools: S’agulla, Sa Palomera, Serrallarga, Santa Maria, Cor de Maria.

On January 1st, 2010 the population of Blanes amounted to 40,010 inhabitants, 20,184 men and 19,826 women.

Blanes. My town

At the south east of La Selva, there is a town in front of the sea with a big rock and a castle, this place is called Blanes. My name is Emma and I live in this beautiful place.

In Blanes there are a lot of cultures, mainly is a fishing town, me have a port with many fishing boats, also is a tourist place.

We have Botanical gardens, too. They are Pinya de Rosa and Marimurtra garden, is considered the best Mediterranean garden of Europe.

We have many historical monuments, for example: the Saint Joan castle built in the XII century, it is the higgest side in the town. From there, you can contemplate a wonderful landscape.

The Gothic Fountain, built in the XV century, is an octogonal fountain decorated with animals and necklaces. It’s located on the main street, next to the theater. There we can see contemporany theater plays.

There are a lot of beaches and each one more nicer than the last, they are transparent and turquiose waters, the best place to spend a perfect day. Like the Sabanell’s beach, Blanes beach, Santa Anna’s tip, Treumal’s cave and Saint Feancesc’s cave. For me, Saint Francesc’s cave is the best beach in the world, because I go with my family and often with friends every day in the summer. We have lunch there, we laugh and play… I love these days.

Long time ago this town was called Blanda, Romans gave their name. They created a strategic place in the Catalan’s coast.

50 years ago was built one factory, it was called Safa, all the people went to work there, migrants from the rest of Spain, too. Like my mother’s family.

There are a lot of traditions in Blanes, but highlifts the competition of firecrackers on the sky. We are “famous” because it’s an international contest,we celebrate this on twenty fourth of July and me finish on twenty eighth of July. The most special day is twenty sixth because is Saint Anna’s Patron’s Day. That day there are dances, performances… It’s a big festival!

In Blanes we are specialists in naiming our schools. We love our beaches and tips names, I say that, because most of the schools, have reference to these sites, for example: Sa Palomera, is the big rock located on the middle of the beach and it’s a secundary school too. Sa Forcanera, another cave, it’s a secundary school, too. And finally S’Agulla, my secundary school, is called like that for one shaped rock between Blanes and Lloret de Mar, the next town to the north.

My town:

My town name is Blanes.

Blanes is a very beautiful town to live.

The has fields also beach, and the river, and much more too.

In my town there are many schools, day care centres, and 2nd school: Ies s’Agulla, Sa Palomera and Serrallarga… Where are going many children.

The party of the neighborhoods of my town are very funny festival. Make dances of different styles of music. Also they usually do different activities, very beautiful. Also make chocolate where the big and small persons for chocolate, with friends and family. And usually make inflatables, for jumping. And the night go differents groups of boys and girls, to sing and dance.

I like of summer is the beach. Because in summer little hot and I’m going of the beach, with my friends and my family to swim and play do castles of sand, is very funny, and happy time with my family and friends.

Also I liked with the costumes and dances, I so very funny.

Also I like with the attractions so funny for all the ages. My favourite mount is the “V”, the looks like dangerous, but when you ride I’m frighterest. Another attraction is the octopus, I don’t know has the name, but my friends and my call is the “octopus”.

Octopus is very funny attraction.

And I many more my town. I liked my town!!!

MY TOWN IS BLANES

The Blanes cinema is very big, it’s located in front of a big supermarket called Caprabo. The cinema has fifteen screens and some screens are in 3D.

Monday is the street market day, in it you can buy clothes shoes and many things more.

Blanes has a big and very wonderful beach. In summers a lot of people visit Blanes’ beach, it’s amazing! Tourists comes to Blanes to stay in it beach.

Blanes has a big theatre, with a great capacity. A lot of people comes to the Blanes theatre. There are many shows plays all over the year.

Blanes‘ holiday is on 26th of July, it’s Saint Anna’s day. And there is an international competition of fireworks along four days. They are fantastic!

I live in Blanes ,Blanes is my town.It is small.there is a beach.

The beach is big and long. There is sa Palomera rock and Saint

Joan castle, it is high. There isn't a museum, a shopping centre or

a stadium. There are a lot of supermarkets. There is a Botanical

garden, the botanical garden is big,wide and long.
