THE CANTERVILLE GHOST

The story is about a family who moves to a house which is haunted and there is a ghost but this ghost is not scary, so children laugh doing ambushes and giving shocks it.

I liked the book because the story is based on children who disturb ghosts and so children are not afraid of ghosts.

The book is rather childish but to learn English is good because there are many words to learn. I recommend this book to learn more. Although the story is quite simple, from the beginning until the end is very entertaining.

EASTER

On Good Friday children paint eggs in the school. The tradition is that adults hide the Easter eggs in the garden and the children have to find them.
On Palm Sanday people wear new things, shoes, socks, pants, shirt...
The normal thing is to eat a dinner called "roasdinner" with meat, potatoes, vegetables...

Easter is a very famous tradition. On Good Friday they eat Hot Cross Bun. They eat the Easter egg and they don't eat meat.
In England the adult people hide the eggs in the garden and the children look for them.
Easter in England starts in the past, it began because the hare was a God because laid eggs.
Easter in Spain has got more meaning than in England. In Catalonia we eat "Mona" and we go to the church to celebrate the Palm Sunday.
The Vilar Day is only in Blanes

The Easter is traditional in Britain. The Easter is celebrated in UK. At Easter people eat chocolate eggs. The day on holidays are Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

In Blanes we celebrate Palm Sunday and we go to the Vilar with the family on Tuesday Easter.

In Britain people celebrate Easter by different way that us but similar days. For example, they paint eggs and hide in the garden and children look for them. In Catalonia we paint eggs but don't hide eggs. In Catalonia is usual eating "la mona". Godfathers give to children. On Easter Tuesday in Blanes we go to "el Vilar". In Britain is very typical on Easter eat vegetables with lamb, or beef, or pork and, on Good Friday, fish. With the Spring there is a new life.

A PAST EVENT

EURODISNEY

We went to Paris, Eurodisney. My family and I went to the Girona station train. We took a train to go from Girona to Paris Austerlitz station train. In Austerlitz station we took a taxi to go to Eurodisney Park.
Eurodisney Park consists of five parts, all of them with names and different attractions: Main Street U.S.A. in the south, Adventureland north-east, Frontierland in the south-east, Fantasyland in the north-west and Discoveryland in south-west. The strong attractions are: Adventureland: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, Frontierland: Big Thunder Mountain, Discoveryland: SPACE MOUNTAIN MISSION 2, My favourite. Walt Disney Studios Park consists of four parts: Courtyard in east, Toon Studio: west, Front Lot: in south and the beast part of this park: BACKLOT in north. The best attractions of every zone are: Courtyard: The Twilight Zone Tower of terror, Toon Studio: Crush's Coaster, Front lot: Studio 1 and the beast... Backlot: Rock'n' roller Coaster starring Aereosmith (the best attraction of the world).
Eurodisney is for children and for adults and it's very SPECTACULAR!

BASSET, Jennifer: Mr Harris and the Night Train

In the story Mr Harris travels by train to go to Oulu in Finland. In his carriage two people came in. Mr Harris looks Elena and Carl arguing about a diamond necklace. Elena di Saronelli is a young woman. She is the little sister of Carl. She has dark eyes and black hair. She is very beautiful. She was half-Italian, half-Finnish. Elena killed Carl and Mr Harris ran the corridor to go to the guard. The guard tells the story of Elena di Saronelli and Carl. The guard tells in September the ghosts of Elena and Carl come on the train.

I liked the book because it's fantasy and horror. It's very interesting. Also because the story happens in the train. I recommend this book because the vocabulary is not difficult. I liked it!

MY SPORTS WEBSITE

CAPOEIRA

I like capoeira because it's a mixture of martial art and dance. I like it because it's like an art of expression, also I like the music that it has, in general, I love it.
Capoeira is an expression. The slaves used to capoeira to defend their freedom. In capoeira do not only fight, also dance the samba and make some “rites” as the Maculelê.
Mestre Bimbahe began practising capoeira in Angola when he was 12 years. Master Formiga says his father died of sadness do not respected Capoeira. On 15 February 1974, in the "Hospital das Clinicas" of Goiânia, he died of a heart attack.

TWIRLING

My favourite sport is twirling. I like this sport because personally I think it's great, exciting and also I love dancing.
Twirling is a sport in which a cane is in use to set of dance, rhythmics and acrobatics.
My favourite athlete is Sebastien Dubois because before he was an athlete ok in France. Now he is a coach in the Club Twirling Blanes, he does the elite exercises. He is 28 years old and he lives in Annecy (France), he has got a daughter of 11 months who is called Lily. Vanessa, is wife, also was an impressive athlete. In his years of competition he always thought it was the best because they always were putting ahead the Japanese and because of it I have a brilliant coach.

My Favourite sport is basketball. I like this sport because it's fun and I can play basketball.
You can play in two ways: individual and col.collective. In collective the objective is score in the opponent's.
My favourite player is Bullock because he plays very well. He is fun and very happy.

FOOTBALL

The game is played on a rectangular grass or artificial turf field with a goal in the centre of each of the short ends. The object of the game is to score by driving the ball into the opposing goal. In general play, the goalkeepers are the only players allowed to use their hands or arms to propel the ball; the rest of the team usually use their feet to kick the ball into position, occasionally using their torso or head to intercept a ball in mid-air. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time and/or a penalty shoot-out, depending on the format of the competition.

SKATING

My favourite show group is the "patinatge artistic private Blanes fundació". This group was fourth in the Champions World of skating in Australia , and first of Girona, Catalunya and Spain, and seconds in Europe. They have a good level and the choreographies are precious.
My favourite skater is Luca d'Alisera. He is a champion world and he dances and his style is amazing. He was born in Rome on March 27, 1981. His favourite colour is yellow. He started skating with four years. The first time he competed was in 1997.
My favourite sport is artistic roller skating because I practise it and I love it. I practise this sport seven years ago and I like to compete with my partners very much We are champions of Girona and seconds of Catalunya.

Tennis is a sport of strategy and sight. It takes a racket, a tennis ball, a sportswear and play fullness.
How to play? You take your first. Throw the ball up and hit. The opponent will receive and batter. And so until you go out or not give.

I like volleyball because it’s funny and I’m happy playing volleyball with my friends. In summer I go to the beach to play volleyball all the days. I think that volleyball is a good sport because you play with your friends and spend a nice time. It’s a sport that plays with two teams. There is a net and one ball. The ball cannot touch the ground. In each time only six players play . In volleyball there are three kind of touches. My favourite team is National-Brazilian team. They are the best team of volleyball and they win all the prizes.

URUGUAY

Uruguay is a little country of South America. The capital is Montevideo.
The beaches are very big and the sand is white, i don't like the water because is brown.
They haven't got the same clothes, the jeans are wide and the shoes are special.
There are a lot of gardens, and there aren't many flats.
Uruguay, in summer is very hot, and in spring rains every day. The winter is ordinary, it's cold.
Uruguay is a wonderful country for visit in summer.

CUBA

Cuba is in the Caribean sea. It’s a very big island. It is a very beautiful place, with lovely beaches. It’s also a poor country. The beaches have a very clear water and a very light sand.

I travelled to Cuba with my parents four years ago. We were three weeks with some Cuban friends. They live in La Habana, in a street called “El electrico”.

We rent a car and travelled around the island. We went to a city called “Cienfuegos”, it is a very beautiful city. All the cars are very old. The cars come from USA and they are made in the fifty’s.

The last week we went to “Varadero”, a place with a lot of big Hotels. There are very beautiful beaches with a lot of Palms, coconuts and lizards.

PARIS

Paris is the capital of France. It's a big city and it is very beautiful! In Paris you can visit the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower mesures 330 meters high. You can up in the tower and see all Paris. It's fantastic and very beautiful! At night the lights turn on in the Eiffel Tower and it is amazing!
In Paris you can visit Disney Land too. In Disney Land you can see all the Disney characters and get on a lot of fun atractions. Disney Land is exciting and fun!!I like Disney Land!!
The Arc of Trionphe is another monument in Paris, where you can also up but is shorter than the Eiffel Tower. It is 49'5 meters high. It is in the centre of the Charles de Gaule square. It is a nice monument to visit in Paris.
Another way to visit Paris is on the “Bateau Mouche”. It goes on the river Sena. From there you can see all the monuments of Paris. A guide in the ship speaks about the history of the different monuments of Paris. It is very wonderful.
Paris is my favourite city to visit. I love Paris!

BLANES

It is a small city next to Girona and Barcelona.
There is a bowling centre. There are three football teams: Blanes, Racing and Ca la guidó. There are five o six schools and three secondary schools. In the centre there are a lot of many winkles. There is a rock, its name is Sa Palomera, is where the Costa Brava begins. There is a very big strand. In the summer there are lot of atmosphere because of the tourist coming from all over Europe because we have some very pretty beaches. In July we have the local celebration and our fireworks are well known all over Europe.

LA SELVA

In “La Selva” there are a lot of markets and fairs but I will talk about the saint Tomás fair in Blanes.
The stops of the fair fill the "Passeig de Dintre" and the "Carrer Ample". To the "Passeig de Dintre", Parallel to the "Passeig de Mar",but inner, also does the dialy market of fruit and vegetables.
The fair of saint Tomás is on 21st of December every year, all day long to the "Passeig de dintre" and to the "Carrer Ample". In this fair you can find some 120 stops, mostly with products of products handiwork related with diet, but also objects of gift, toys and Christmas decoration.
Also you will find opened all the shops of the centre. If you go to the alimentary products, you can find nought candy, sweets, stuffings, chesses, a kind of cake and cakes, honey, kestnuts, mushrooms, wines and dig...
If you go to the presents section of gift, you will find, jewels, perfumes, winter clothes... In the toys stops you can find small gifts for "caga tió" and "fanals" to go to expect the Three Wise Men. If you go to the Christmas decoration you can find the mistletol, Christmas plants, "tions" and "pessebre" statues.
Also you can find half dozen of stops of entities of humanitarian character that collect money and food for needed families and associations of different illnesses that explains his task; and also listen to them and groups of students of schools and high schools that collect money for his end year trips .
It's interesting to know that some villages as Sopeira (Alta Ribagorça)or Casasilh (Vall d'Aran) still preserve the tradition of the saint Tomás Christmas fair, even Bacelona does her own in the Gran Via.
Before of the appearance of the fair of saint Tomàs, the "Blanencs" used to buy, the chicken, the "capó" and the turkey, that later they would kill at home to eat at the Christmas Day. Also they used to buy sweets and small gifts to do "cagar el tió".
The fair of saint Tomàs is known commonly as a "fira de les pilotes", owed to an ancient tradition of the boys of the village, that consisted in throwing a ball of the sice of an egg to another boy. It was made of leather, with clothes inside and with an elastic rubber tied to the hand that permit them to get it back.
